They say that every trend has a moment where you realise that nothing will ever be the same again ?
So I experienced that moment recently with remote working when I ran across Gather Town.
So Gather town is a virtual gathering place for remote workers (amongst others). You take your desk in virtual space and you can create meeting groups with other people or just go and chat to your neighbour who could be a Java programmer in Kiev.
It casts a bright light on the artificial nature of our physical workspaces. I mean really WTF do we need them for anymore ??? This is bad for companies like us :-))) On the whole we sell physical work environments. But look at it this way - at least we realised it early ???:-))
